A mailbox is the place where emails are stored. Every user on your account has a mailbox which can receive mail sent to user@example.com (where example.com is your domain). This means that employees in a company or family members can have separate mailboxes. You can also set up aliases for mailboxes, so the user ‘john’ could have the alias of ‘support’ and receive mail sent to both john@example.com and support@example.com in his mailbox.

Sign up with IPower web hosting plan, you can create your E-mail account with your desire domain name. MailCentral, located in the Email section of your IPower control panel, allows you to create and manage your Email mailboxes. A mailbox stores your email messages. You access your mailbox using the mailbox name and password, and a client of your choice. Once logged in, you can read your mail, reply, delete, organize into folders, and basically manage your email at anyway and anytime. You also can connect to a mailbox using POP3 or IMAP. POP3 is the most commonly used email protocol. When using a POP3 mailbox, the messages are downloaded and stored on your computer.

IMAP stores your mail folders (inbox, sent items, etc) on the server. Because IMAP stores all your email folders on the mail server, you can view them from any location (home, office, etc). Mail being stored on your account does count towards your disk space quota. Webmail uses IMAP to connect to the mailbox. If your email client connects using POP3, you can still use webmail to view new messages in the inbox (you won’t be able to see the messages in any other folders which are stored on your computer). However, you will only be able to see the messages whilst your normal email client is off and not downloading mail. This is fine if you are away from your computer. If you wish to be able to see new messages in the webmail inbox whilst also downloading the mail to your computer, you can set your email client to leave a copy of messages on the server for a number of days, but this doesn’t give you the synchrony that IMAP offers.

How to configure an Email Client? To access your IPower hosting account mailboxes with an email client like Outlook, IPhone, MacMail, or another client of your choice either POP or IMAP, you have to configure it. The Email server names setting are Incoming Mail Server – pop.PrimaryDomain and Outgoing Mail Server – smtp.PrimaryDomain, where PrimaryDomain is your IPower hosting account primary domain, set in DomainCentral. For examples: Incoming: pop.FlowersByLisa.info, Outgoing: smtp.FlowersByLisa.info where FlowersByLisa.info is your primary domain. The ports are POP: 110 and SMTP: 587.To configure email server names and settings for IMAP. Firstly, select IMAP as the setting in your email client. Incoming Mail Server – imap.PrimaryDomain or pop.PrimaryDomain, Outgoing Mail Server – smtp.PrimaryDomain. The ports are IMAP: 143 and SMTP: 587.

IPower web hosting is competent web hosting company, they have a high level of uptime and the most features of their hosting package are par on those of their competitors. They offer their IPower Pro Plan at $4.95 per month only, vDeck control panel, Free domain name and host unlimited domain in one. You might need to know how to send a form Email to your customers such as online sponsor form, invoice/order form, contact form etc. As for your references, below is the basic script that converts the contents of a form to an Email message.

Getting started, firstly you need create an HTML form with the following tags:

A standard <form> tag that contains the path to the Form -> Email processing script
<form method= “post” action=”http://www.ipower.com/scripts/formemail.bml”>

A hidden tag. This tag means it cannot be seen by your customers and tells the form where to email the contents of the form.
<input type=”hidden” name=”my_email” value=”youremail”>

Create an Input field for each piece of data you wish to collect. To create an input field you can use a tag such as this:

<input type=”text” name=”fieldname” size=”25″>

For example if you wanted to create a input field called fullname it would look like this:

<input type=”text” name=”fullname” size=”25″>

You can customize the default subject line by using this hidden tag and replacing subject with what you want the subject to be:

<input type=”hidden” name=”subject” value=”subject”>

If you want to include one of the input fields in the return email’s subject field, all you need to do is replace “Subject” in your code with the NAME of the field surrounded by %%. For example, if your form contains a field name firstname, it would look like this:

<input type=”hidden” name=”subject” value=”form submission from %%firstname%%”>

If you want to make a certain input field required in your form. Use the following tag

<input type=”hidden” name=”required” value=”field1,fieldn”>

For example, if you were making the field named emailaddress and firstname, your tag would like this:

<input type=”hidden”name=”required” value=”emailaddress, firstname”>

You can send your visitors to various URLs after they have completed the form. To send them to a specific page after they have completed the form successfully by using the tag below and replacing “yoururl” with the page name. The URL does not have to be on your site or even hosted with IPOWER. It is best to use full path names (http://www.yoursite.com/page.html) and not local paths (/page/html).

<input type=”hidden” name=”thankyou_url” value=”yoururl”>

If a customer fills out your form incorrectly, you can customize the “error” page by they see inserting the following line of code in your form:

<input type=”hidden” name=”error_url” value=”yoururl”>

Changing the order of your form results. By default, the results of your form are displayed alphabetically by field name. To change this order, you will need to use:

<input type=”hidden” name=”order” value=”field,field2,field3″>

Adding a blind carbon copy (bcc) email address. You can have an email address as an blind carbon copy to the results of your form. Use the following syntax to add a bcc email address:

<input type =”hidden” name =”bcc” value=”bbcemailaddress”>

Specifying a return email address. To have your customers insert their email address into your form. Use the following syntax to have your customers add their email address:

<input type=”text” name=”email”>

Adding Submit and Reset buttons. Include buttons to submit your customer’s data or reset values. You can change the text that appears on the button by editing the value field. Use the following syntax to include submit and reset buttons:

<input type=”submit” name=”submit” value=”Submit Now” >
<input type=”reset” name=”reset” value=”Reset” >

Fighting spam mail, thats one of my biggest concern for my mailbox nowaday. When i first got my new email account it was clear and safe from email spams. After few years of using the account, and exposed to the internet, i am getting more and more spam mail everyday. To fight spam, i usually will use email filtering system spamassassin, or whitelist blacklist system like boxtrapper.

Commonly in cpanel hosting, we can find the spamassassin and boxtrapper feature for fighting spam mail. In vdeck control panel, we will find the similar feature, but its not named at those two.

After you already setup/add new email account at ipower vdeck control panel, you can now add email filter and whitelist blacklist to your particular email account. From vdeck, go to mailcentral > spam setting. At here you can choose either or use them both.

“Our spam filter can test incoming e-mail to determine whether or not it looks like spam. Should we scan your e-mail for spam?”

“If you have chosen to scan your e-mail, indicate how you want our filter to handle mail identified as spam:

Save spam messages in a separate directory for 7 days, after which they are deleted.

Receive a daily digest of messages flagged as spam; original copies are automatically deleted.

Delete suspected spam immediately.

Receive suspected spam with a subject line prefix of your choosing

“Please note: You no longer need to set a “threshold” for how aggressively you would like to combat spam (low, medium or high). If you have spam scanning turned on, we will filter your messages for all instances of suspected spam.”

Greylisting is a highly effective method at stopping spam and viruses from being delivered to your mailbox. You can apply greylist settings on a domain level.

Whitelist is Mail from whitelisted entries will always be delivered.

Blacklist is Mail from blacklisted entries will not be accepted.

You even can block spam e-mail coming from specific ip address or class C ip address. Setting is done in the spam setting section as well.

Go to ipower.com

This is the first review about ipowerweb email account and ipower email features. First of all, currently ipower web is offering 1500GB web storage space hosting plan with unlimited domain hosting. That is a huge capasity web hosting plan, a complete web hosting plan that also come with email account and send receive email feature.

Ipowerweb email accounts & features are as following:

2500 POP3 E-mail Accounts

Email Forwarding Accounts

Email Auto Responders included

Email Spam Filtering

WebMail client

Email catch-all feature

Once you have your ipowerweb account and ipowerweb vdeck control panel with domain name hosted with ipower, you can add new email account and setup email account for send receive emails. Go to mailcentral, and create/add email account. Select the domain name for this email, and assign a email account name and user password to this email account. Remember the email login details as you will require it.

Next, you can use your favourite email client, eg. outlook, outlook express, windows mail, windows live mail, eudora, etc. And connect these email client to ipowerweb email accounts are so easy. Fill in your incoming email server and outgoing email server, and enter the login details, you are all done. Setup email account and email client connection is simple as that.
