Fighting spam mail, thats one of my biggest concern for my mailbox nowaday. When i first got my new email account it was clear and safe from email spams. After few years of using the account, and exposed to the internet, i am getting more and more spam mail everyday. To fight spam, i usually will use email filtering system spamassassin, or whitelist blacklist system like boxtrapper.

Commonly in cpanel hosting, we can find the spamassassin and boxtrapper feature for fighting spam mail. In vdeck control panel, we will find the similar feature, but its not named at those two.

After you already setup/add new email account at ipower vdeck control panel, you can now add email filter and whitelist blacklist to your particular email account. From vdeck, go to mailcentral > spam setting. At here you can choose either or use them both.

“Our spam filter can test incoming e-mail to determine whether or not it looks like spam. Should we scan your e-mail for spam?”

“If you have chosen to scan your e-mail, indicate how you want our filter to handle mail identified as spam:

• Save spam messages in a separate directory for 7 days, after which they are deleted.
• Receive a daily digest of messages flagged as spam; original copies are automatically deleted.
• Delete suspected spam immediately.
• Receive suspected spam with a subject line prefix of your choosing

“Please note: You no longer need to set a “threshold” for how aggressively you would like to combat spam (low, medium or high). If you have spam scanning turned on, we will filter your messages for all instances of suspected spam.”

• Greylisting is a highly effective method at stopping spam and viruses from being delivered to your mailbox. You can apply greylist settings on a domain level.
• Whitelist is Mail from whitelisted entries will always be delivered.
• Blacklist is Mail from blacklisted entries will not be accepted.

You even can block spam e-mail coming from specific ip address or class C ip address. Setting is done in the spam setting section as well.
